Leonard R B Roxon

Leonard is also well known in NL and across Canada, as the Coach & Dad of Katarina Roxon, the 2016 Rio Paralympics Gold Medalist. He has the distinction of being the only NL Coach to be the recipient of multiple Petro-Canada Coaching Excellence Awards, bestowed only on Canada’s most outstanding national team coaches.

 

Leonard has had a distinguished career as a physiotherapist. An excellent manual therapist, he believes in using innovative techniques and best practice methods to attain optimum treatment outcomes. He is adept at assessing and treating injuries such as MVA’s, Sports Injuries, Industrial and Workplace injuries.

 

His background as an athlete and coach has fostered a real understanding of the rigours of training, competing and injury rehabilitation. He designs and teaches individualized exercise plans along preventive care regimens. He is adept at assessing and treating neck, back, shoulder, lower body, and trunk related injuries.

 

Leonard has himself played basketball at the national level and competed in athletics, His own experiences with injuries have given him unique perspectives to not only be an understanding Physiotherapist who treats injuries, but can empathize with patients on their day-to-day struggles faced by them while injured, along with valuable insights into treating various injuries, teaching preventive methods and empowering patients to become independent in managing their health.
